What our placement assistance actually includes
Every item below is included in the course fee. None of it is sold separately after you enrol, and there is no success fee when you get hired.
| What you get | What it concretely means | Professional | Expert |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resume & LinkedIn review | Rewritten around your deployed projects, not a generic template | Yes | Yes |
| Mock technical interviews | Kubernetes troubleshooting, Terraform, CI/CD and DevSecOps questions, with feedback | Yes | Yes |
| Portfolio preparation | Five AWS projects at public URLs, with READMEs you can walk an interviewer through | Yes | Yes |
| Referrals | To companies where the instructor or alumni have a genuine connection | Where we have them | Prioritised |
| Offer & negotiation help | A second opinion when an offer arrives and you are unsure whether to negotiate | Basic | End-to-end |
| Interview prep by city | What Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Chennai employers ask | Yes | Yes |
The portfolio is the part that does the heavy lifting. An interviewer who can open your GitHub and see a CI/CD pipeline deploying to Kubernetes, Terraform that provisions it and monitoring that would catch a failure is far more convinced than by any certificate. Our guide to presenting DevOps projects in interviews covers how to talk about them.
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee a job. Anyone in this industry who does is either redefining the word or selling you something. The market, your background and how you interview decide the outcome, and none of those are in our control.
We do not promise a fixed salary or a set number of interviews. Reported packages are roughly ₹8–16 LPA, self-reported by alumni — around ₹8 LPA for freshers and ₹12–16 LPA with two or more years of prior experience.
We do not claim “hiring partners” we have no agreement with. When we refer you, it is to a company where the instructor or an alumnus genuinely has a connection.
How our “up to 85%” figure and every salary number on this site is calculated is published openly on our placement outcomes page.
“Placement assistance” means very different things — compare before you pay
The same two words cover wildly different offers. This is what you are actually choosing between in India in 2026, and the questions that reveal which one you are looking at.
| Model | What it usually means | The catch to check |
|---|---|---|
| Job guarantee / "100% placement" | A promise of a job, or your money back | Almost always conditional on attendance, test scores and accepting any offer; the refund terms are narrow. Treat a flat "100%" with scepticism. |
| Guaranteed interviews | A set number of interview calls, not offers | An interview is not a job. Ask whether the guarantee depends on your performance in training — it usually does. |
| Pay after placement | A career-services fee (often ₹50,000–₹80,000) paid only once you are placed | The real cost is tuition plus that fee. A salary-linked fee can make a "cheap" course the most expensive on your shortlist. |
| Job board + resume access | Access to a portal and a resume template | This is the lightest form of "assistance". Fine if that is all you need, but know that is what it is. |
| Included, honest assistance (ours) | Resume review, mock interviews and real referrals, included in the fee, no guarantee | Verify the referrals are real: ask to speak to a recently placed alumnus. We would rather you ask. |
Our fee is published openly at ₹35,000 for the Professional course and ₹80,000 for the Expert course, with placement assistance included and no separate placement charge. There is no GST and there is a 7-day refund window.
How placement support works, week by week
Placement is not a thing that happens on the last day of the course. It runs alongside the training and continues after it. A realistic sequence:
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Weeks 1–10 | You build every project to deployed status during the course. The portfolio is the foundation everything else rests on. |
| Weeks 8–14 | Resume and LinkedIn rebuilt around your projects. Each project gets a README and a short demo you can walk through. |
| Weeks 12–20 | Mock technical interviews on Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and DevSecOps. You apply steadily — expect 50–80 applications in this window. |
| Weeks 14–24 | Referrals where we have them, interview feedback after each round, and help reading an offer when one comes. |
| Weeks 20–32 | First offer for most people with some IT background (7–10 months); 10–14 months is realistic for freshers. |
This timeline is longer than most marketing admits. People who go in expecting it succeed; people who expect an offer the week the course ends are the ones who end up disappointed. The honest market context is in how to choose a DevOps training institute.
Why our placement assistance is worth more than a bigger promise
Batches are capped at 15. The instructor knows your name and your code, so the mock interviews and resume feedback are specific to you, not a template. At a batch of 80 that is impossible.
The instructor has actually hired DevOps engineers. Firoz is an ex-DevOps Lead at TCS with 8+ years of production experience, so the interview prep reflects what hiring managers actually ask, not what a slide deck says they ask.
The referrals are real. We only point you at companies where there is a genuine connection, and we will put you in touch with a placed alumnus before you enrol so you can check.
The honesty is the point. A program that tells you the truth about a 7–10 month timeline is more useful than one that promises a job in two months and leaves you unprepared for the real process.
DevOps Course Placement — Frequently Asked Questions
What does placement assistance in a DevOps course actually include?
+
Genuine placement assistance means resume and LinkedIn review built around your projects, mock technical interviews where you are asked the awkward Kubernetes and Terraform questions on purpose, and referrals to companies the instructor or alumni have a real connection to. It does not mean a guaranteed job, a fixed salary or a set number of interviews. At SwitchtoDevOps that is exactly what you get, and we are clear about what it is not.
Does SwitchtoDevOps guarantee a job after the DevOps course?
+
No, and we would be cautious of anyone who does. We do not guarantee a job — anyone in this industry who does is either redefining the word or selling you something. We help you build a portfolio that proves production thinking, prepare you for interviews, and refer you where we genuinely can. Whether you get hired depends on your portfolio, how you interview, and the market when you apply. How we calculate every placement and salary figure is on our placement outcomes page.
What is your placement rate?
+
When we quote "up to 85%", the two words that matter most are "up to". That is the best result we have recorded across recent cohorts, counting only students who completed the course, and it is self-reported by alumni — not an average across all batches and not a figure you should assume applies to you. The full methodology is published openly on our placement outcomes page.
What salary do students get placed at?
+
Reported packages are roughly ₹8–16 LPA: around ₹8 LPA for freshers and ₹12–16 LPA for people with two or more years of prior experience. These are self-reported by alumni, not a promise. Your number depends on your city, your previous role and how you interview. Our DevOps engineer salary guide breaks down the wider market with sources.
How is this different from "guaranteed placement" or "pay after placement" programs?
+
Some institutes advertise guaranteed interviews or a career-services fee you pay only after getting placed, often ₹50,000–₹80,000 on top of tuition. Those models can work, but read the conditions: the guarantee is usually conditional on your attendance and performance, and the post-placement fee makes the real cost much higher than the headline. Our fee is published openly at ₹35,000, placement assistance is included in it, and there is no separate placement charge.
Do I need to pay extra for placement support?
+
No. Resume review, mock interviews and referrals are included in the course fee of ₹35,000 for the Professional course and ₹80,000 for the Expert course. There is no separate "placement program" fee, no success fee, and no GST added. The full fee breakdown is on our course fees page.
Can a fresher or non-IT professional get placed through this course?
+
Yes, freshers and career switchers do get placed, and most of our students come from exactly those backgrounds. It takes longer than for someone already in IT: a realistic window is 7–10 months for people with some IT experience and 10–14 months for freshers, including the months of applying and interviewing after the course ends. The portfolio you build is what makes the difference.
Which companies do your students get placed at?
+
Placements span IT services firms, product companies, GCCs and fintech, across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Chennai, as well as remote roles. We do not claim named "hiring partners" we have no agreement with. We refer students to companies where the instructor or alumni genuinely have a connection, and we are honest that the rest comes down to your own applications.
