DevOps Course Fees in Chennai 2026: What Each Institute Actually Charges

Try to find out what a DevOps course in Chennai costs and you will notice something odd. Half the institutes on the first page of Google do not publish a price at all. You get a "Get Fees" button, a form, and then a phone call.

That is a deliberate choice, not an oversight. A quoted price is easier to negotiate down when the person quoting it knows how interested you are. It also makes comparison harder, which is the point.

So here is the comparison, with everything I could verify from public pages. Where an institute hides its fee, I have said so rather than guessing.

What Chennai institutes charge in 2026

Fees read off each institute's public Chennai page in August 2026. Discounted prices in this market are close to permanent, so treat the "down from" figure as marketing rather than a real saving. Check before you pay — these numbers move.

Why the cheap ones can be cheap

A 15,000 rupee course is not a scam. It is a different business model, and it is worth understanding before you decide it is a bargain.

Classroom institutes in Chennai run on volume. Greens Technology lists 19 branches. Besant lists 9. A trainer standing in front of 25 or 30 students earns the institute roughly the same as a trainer in front of 8, so the incentive runs one way. Fill the room.

At that batch size the format changes whether anyone intends it to or not. Nobody reviews your Terraform. Your broken Jenkins pipeline gets a "check the logs" and the class moves on. You will get through the syllabus. What you will not get is somebody looking at your specific mistakes.

For some people that is completely fine. If you already work in IT, you can debug on your own, and you mainly need structure and a certificate to put on your CV, a 15,000 rupee classroom course in Velachery is decent value. I would not talk anyone out of it.

Why the expensive ones are expensive

StarAgile at 49,999 plus a 20,000 rupee career services fee after placement comes to nearly 70,000. That buys brand, a large alumni network, and a placement operation with real recruiter relationships.

Whether that is worth 4x the Greens price depends entirely on whether their recruiter network reaches the companies you want. For someone targeting a large MNC that already hires from them in bulk, possibly. For someone targeting a product company on OMR that hires on GitHub history, less so.

The number nobody puts on the pricing page

Batch size. It is the single variable that changes what a course actually is, and almost nobody publishes it.

Ask directly. Not "is the batch small" — every institute says yes. Ask "how many students were in the last DevOps batch you completed, and how many are in the one starting next month." A straight answer tells you a lot, and so does a vague one.

The follow-up that matters more: who reviews my work, and how often. In a 30-person batch the honest answer is nobody. In a 10-person batch it should be the trainer, every week, on your actual code.

What the fee should cover

Ask for this in writing before you pay. Institutes are used to the question and the ones that hesitate are telling you something.

• Cloud costs. You cannot learn AWS without an AWS account, and somebody pays for it. If the fee does not include credits or a sandbox, budget 3,000 to 5,000 rupees of your own, or expect to only watch demos.
• Certification exam fees. Almost never included. The AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam is roughly 12,500 rupees. CKA is higher. "Certification included" usually means exam preparation material, not the exam.
• Recording access, and for how long. Six months is common. Lifetime is better and costs the institute nothing, which tells you why it is not standard.
• What happens if you miss classes. Can you rejoin a later batch at no cost? Working professionals miss weeks. Sprint releases do not pause for coursework.
• Placement support, spelled out. Resume review and mock interviews are real. "100 percent placement guarantee" from an institute that also runs 30-student batches is a marketing line, not a contract. Ask what the refund condition actually is and get the exact wording.

Where we sit, including who should not pick us

We charge 35,000, published on the site, no form to fill in first. That is roughly twice the classroom institutes and half of StarAgile.

What it buys is a cap of 10 students per batch, live sessions rather than recordings, and the same instructor every week reviewing your work. Fewer students is the entire cost structure. It is why the price is what it is.

We do not have a Chennai centre. Every Chennai batch is live online. If you want to sit in a room in Velachery or Anna Nagar with a trainer at the whiteboard, we are the wrong choice and Besant or Greens are genuinely better options for you. Some people learn better with somewhere to physically go, and that preference is worth respecting rather than arguing with.

You should also skip us if you want the cheapest route to a certificate. At 15,000 the classroom institutes will get you there and we will not compete on that.

Where the small batch actually pays back is if you are switching from manual testing or L1 support, where the gap is not knowledge but confidence with real infrastructure, and you need someone to catch what you are doing wrong before it becomes a habit. A note on Chennai salaries, since fee questions usually hide a salary question

People ask about fees when what they really want to know is whether the money comes back.

Chennai is not Bangalore. Service majors in Sholinganallur and Siruseri hire in volume, and they pay accordingly. The product firms and GCCs along OMR and around Tidel Park pay noticeably better but hire far fewer people and test much harder.

Realistically: freshers land in the 3.5 to 6 lakh range in the service belt. Two to four years of genuine DevOps work moves you to 8 to 14. The Chennai engineers earning above 18 tend to be at product companies or GCCs, and they got there on demonstrated production experience, not on a certificate.

No course changes those bands. What a course can do is get you into the interview and stop you falling over on the practical round. Anyone promising more than that is selling you something. How to decide

Shortlist three institutes. Ask each one the same five questions: last batch size, who reviews your code, whether cloud costs are included, how long you keep the recordings, and the exact refund wording.

Then ask to speak to two students who finished in the last six months. Not testimonials on the website. Actual people, on the phone. Every institute worth your money can arrange this within a day. The ones that stall are answering the question anyway.
